About Team Canine

Team Canine was founded by Brad & Tamara Jaffe in 1999. Unhappy with the attitude of master/servant training styles based in intimidation and forceful methods, we ventured out on a mission to find another way. Since then we have studied the pioneers of non-violent training and the fathers of modern day psychology. But most of all we have learned from the greatest teachers of dog behavior that will ever walk this earth; dogs. The thousands of dogs that have been such patient teachers to us have been the greatest contributors to how we train. We have been fortunate enough to have been able to educate thousands of dogs and their families through television, radio, newspaper columns, in classes and in private in-home lessons and through our training DVD and Brad’s first book Conversations With Courtney.

Our goal is to educate the millions of people that are searching for a gentle, compassionate, common sense approach to training their dogs. We want to live our lives doing what we love and to make a difference in as many hearts and minds (human and dog) as possible. The more people we can educate, the more dogs will be spared from abuse, neglect, harsh training methods and unnecessary euthanization.

• On-air trainers for Mollie the Golden Doodle “co-host” of Your Life A-Z TV show at 9:00am weekdays on Channel 3 in Phoenix, AZ from 2004 – 2006.
• Featured on Channel 5 and Channel 15 in Phoenix, AZ and written about in the Arizona Republic, The Scottsdale Times, The North Scottsdale Times, The Gilbert Times newspapers and the Peek at The Peak Magazine.
• Dog behavior experts for Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Maricopa County Animal Safe Hospice (MASH Unit) working with inmates to care for and rehabilitate severely abused and neglected dogs.
• Tamara & Brad were nationally certified as Pet Dog Trainers in 2002 by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
• Brad and Tamara are both certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluators
